Hello world!
So, this is my voice on the web. Interesting.
My previous experience with blogs has been cursory. I’ve kept tabs on friends’ travels overseas, flirted occasionally with travel blogs through other media (ie The Age), but that has really been the extent of it. I created a blog at uni, but just to show I could.
A strong advocate of life long learning, I see these web-based resources playing a key role in allowing our students, and ourselves, to continue along our own paths to life long learning. Living as we do in a world increasingly connected to and driven by the web, it is of utmost importance to move with, and ahead of, our students, ensuring connections to this technology are available to them in an educational environment.
Teaching in the humanities, I find students connect best to stories of the individuals in our histories. The ability of blogs to create histories and develop an interelated web of stories can only add to and strengthen this shared understanding of the discipline.
